CLEVELAND, OH--The Phoenix round out day one of the Cleveland State Invitational with a tough loss to the golden eagles of Tennessee Tech(28-30, 27-30, 20-30).
Laura Sidorowicz led the golden eagles (2-5 overall) with 18 kills and 10 digs. Teammate Maggie Stern added nine kills and 14 digs to Tennessee Tech's win.
Elon's Emily Hayes led the team in kills with 14 and accumulated 11 digs. The Phoenix saw tremendous effort from Kate Hart who led the team in assists with 21 and added 10 digs, as well as, Laura Griffin who added nine kills and seven digs for Elon.
The Phoenix (2-7 overall) return to action tomorrow for day two of the Cleveland State Invitational against St. Francis. Elon rounds out this tounrament on Saturday with a 2:30 match against host Cleveland State.
