PHILADELPHIA, PA -- In a five game thriller at Friday's Sheraton Invitational, the Fordham Rams survived a scare from the Phoenix.

Elon (3-9) took the opener 30-26, dropped game two 20-30 and grabbed the third game of the match 31-29. The Rams (7-5) downed the Phoenix 22-30 in game four before sending Elon to an 11-15 defeat in the final game.

Pacing the way for Elon was Laura Griffin (11 kills, one block), Emily Hayes (10 kills, nine digs), Kate Hart (21 assists, five digs) and Maria LaBrutto (10 digs, three blocks).

Fordham's Kristyn Daly tallied 46 assists and 14 digs to lead the Rams. Roxanne Hill knocked down a game-high 14 kills for Fordham.

The Phoenix will battle St. John's Friday afternoon at 5:30 p.m.
