NEWPORT, VA -- Alana Black set a new Elon record in the 1500 meter run, placing 10th with a time of 5:08.89 on the final day of the College Indoor Classic. Jeanne Davis finished 25th with a time of 5:44.94 in the same event.

In the 200 meter dash, Jessica Hayden grabbed an 11th place finish after posting a time of 28.34 seconds. Sabrinna Faulkner (22nd, 29.76) and Meredith Weavil (24th, 30.34) also had strong showings in the 200.

Danielle Gunnels grabbed a 27th place finish in the 400 meter dash after finishing with a time of 1:06.41. Also placing in the 400 were Mary Caruso (30th, 1:06.65) and Courtney Tomaini (35th, 1:08.41).

Black grabbed another 10th place finish in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:28.71 while Tomaini placed 21st in a time of 2:36.79.

In the 3000 meter run Erin Wallace finished 12th in a time of 11:59.57 and Davis placed 14th with a time of 12:12.52.

Wallace placed 11th in the 5000 meter run, posting a time of 21:03.82. In the 4x400 meter relay, the Phoenix placed 10th with a time of 4:25.18.

Summer Schlesinger and Lindsay Gonzalez placed 14th and 16th, respectively, after posting marks of 31-07.50 and 30-09.50 in the triple jump.

In the shot put, Jessica Burgeson grabbed a 22nd place finish after a throw of 27-08.25. Sara Buhl placed 25th with a toss of 25-11.75.

Up next for the Phoenix: A trip to the Niswonge Foundation Track and Field Invitational hosted by East Tennessee State on January 31 and Feburary 1.
