CHARLESTON, SC-- The Elon men's golf team opened its spring season Monday at the Charleston Southern Spring Kick Off Tournament. After shooting a 315 on the first day, the team goes into the final round of action in ninth place.
J.D. McNeill and Ryan Loucks paced the Phoenix, finishing in a 29th place tie after a one-day score of 78. Keith Orlen shot a 79 in his first round to place in a tie for 38th. Matt Crews (80, t-43) and Bennett Smith (85, t-58) rounded out the Phoenix five.
Charleston Southern currently stands at first with a score of 291. The Phoenix are ahead of Dayton and High Point going into the finals.
