NEW ORLEANS, LA -- Tulane, host of the Green Wave/Radisson Invitational, dispatched of Elon in three games on Saturday afternoon, taking the games by scores of 18-30, 23-30, 22-30. The loss drops Elon to 0-2 on the season, while Tulane improves to 2-0.
The Phoenix recorded 33 kills, led by 10 from Sarah Farley and eight from Juliena Gigon. Kate Hart tallied a match-best 28 assists for Elon, while M.K. Spear led the team with 12 digs.
Iman Houston led the Green Wave with 11 kills and Katie Case recorded 22 assists.
For the match, Elon had an attack percentage of .121 to an impressive .327 by the Green Wave. Tulane tallied 45 assists to only 32 for Elon, and the Green Wave also held an advantage in blocks by a 7-2 margin.
The Phoenix will finish play in the tournament on Saturday at 6:00 p.m. when it plays Nicholls State.
