SUNSET BEACH, NC – Ryan Loucks and J.D. McNeill each claimed a share of third place in the individual standings to lead host Elon to a third-place tie in the team standings at the Sea Trail Intercollegiate men's golf tournament Sunday on the 6,761-yard Rees Jones Course.

Loucks (74-71–145) fired a one-under-par 71 on the second day to pull into a tie with McNeill (72-73–145) and Pfeiffer's Ben Hallam (74-71–145) in the two-day, 100-player event. Western Carolina's Tim Eckberg (69-73–142) edged Gardner-Webb's Steve McDonald (71-72–143) for medalist honors.

The Phoenix (294-301–595) and Pfeiffer (304-291–595) were unable to catch Davidson (296-292–588) and Gardner-Webb (302-289–591), which were both red hot during the final round. Appalachian State (303-295–598) placed fifth in the 20-team tournament.

Elon's James Hockman (71-80–151) fell from a second-place tie after the opening round to finish tied for 28th. Teammates Keith Orlen (Tied-39th, 77-77–154) and Ralph Alfieri (Tied-67th, 79-80–159) also represented the Phoenix at the third annual event.
