ELON, N.C. -- Elon University women's golf coach Chris Dockrill today announced that both
Frederique Bruell (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights HS) and
Danielle Mills (Pointe Claire, Quebec, Canada/St. Thomas HS) have signed National Letters of Intent to compete for the Phoenix beginning with the 2005-06 school year.
Bruell has been honored as a First Team All-Northeast District selection and placed fourth at the Ohio Girls Golf Foundation tournament. During sectional play, Bruell shot a 78, the second lowest round of the tournament. She also finished sixth at the district tournament after carding a 79. Rounds of 78 and 76 lifted the team captain and MVP to a second place finish at the Kenny Novak Memorial tournament. Frederique played for Frederick Weed at Shaker Heights and is the daughter of Laurie and Zack Bruell.
Mills, who also plays volleyball and is on the curling team at St. Thomas High, is a three-time Junior Girl's Champion at the Royal Montreal Golf Club. She was the low qualifier at the Royal M&L Ladies Championship in 2004. Mills claimed the Montreal District Championship in 2004. She was a gold medal winner in 2004 for the Dawson golf team. Danielle is the daughter of Nicole Raymond and Eric Mills.
Elon University is an NCAA Division I member of the Southern Conference.
