AUGUSTA, Ga.– The Elon University women's golf team sits in a tie for seventh place with a score of 324 after the first day of play at the Lady Jaguar Invitational hosted by Augusta State. The Phoenix has four golfers tied for 24th with a score of 81.
Morgan Olds (40-41), Samantha Widmer (43-38), Kristin Tremoulis (42-39) and Krista Burlow (41-40) all lead the Phoenix in a tie for 24th. Alison Mangini rounds out the field for Elon with a score of 86 (42-44) and a 61st-place finish after day one.
Elon is tied in seventh with Western Carolina and Arkansas-Little Rock.
Augusta State leads the tournament with a score of 318. Longwood (T-2nd/319), Maryland (T-2nd/319), UNC Greensboro (4th/320), Birmingham Southern (5th/3210) and Jacksonville State (6th/323) all sit ahead of the Phoenix.
Elon will conclude the tournament on Tuesday, November 9.
