SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon University freshman Jimmy Lytle (Ocean Ridge, Fla./Pope John Paul II) was named the Southern Conference Athlete of the Month for November in men’s golf today.

The 5-10, 160-pound Lytle led the Phoenix to a fourth-place finish in the 14-team Daytona Beach Invitational on Nov. 9. He carded a three-round 221 to place fourth among 68 golfers, firing a 73.7 average.

Lytle shot an even-par 72 in each of the first two rounds of the tournament before turning in a 77 for the final round. Lytle is one of five Elon student-athletes to earn Southern Conference Athlete of the Month accolades so far this year.
