CITRUS SPRINGS, Fla. – Elon's recent struggles continued Sunday as the Phoenix mustered a 314 to end up in 12th place at the 17-team El Diablo Intercollegiate men's golf tournament at the El Diablo Golf and Country Club.

Elon leader Ryan Loucks (75-75-78–228) was unable to match his team-low 73.71 season average on the 7,045-yard course, but still tied for 20th in the 96-golfer field to earn his seventh top-20 finish in the season's eight tournaments.

James Hockman (79-78-77–234) fired a five-over-par 77 – the top Phoenix score of the day – to snare a share of 45th place. J.D. McNeill (T-55th; 74-84-79–237), Ralph Alfieri (T-55th; 78-79-80–237) and Bennett Smith (T-85th; 76-87-85–248) all turned in scorecards for Elon over the weekend.

The Phoenix (303-316-314–933) beat Akron (937), Bowling Green State (940), Florida Atlantic (941), Gardner-Webb (951) and Wright State (953) and finished behind Eastern Kentucky (891), South Florida (902), Wichita State (902), Ball State (917), Winthrop (920), Rollins (921), Miami of Ohio (922), West Florida (922), Louisville (923), Marquette (931) and host Marshall (931).
