College of Charleston's Angie Hill (70), Western Carolina's Bianca Melone (71), UNC Greensboro's Ashley Mylton (72), Western Carolina's Ashley Hovda (73) and College of Charleston's Megan Miller (74) lead the individual standings.
Pacing the Phoenix, Johnson is tied for 10th place in the 40-golfer field. Samantha Widmer (Tied-21st/78), Kelly Baytos (Tied-26th/82), Danielle Mills (Tied-26th/82) and Kristin Tremoulis (Tied-28th/83) are all representing Elon in its first SoCon championship event as the host institution.
The three-day, three-round tournament resumes Saturday at 11 a.m. with final-round action beginning Sunday at 8:04 a.m. The 13th annual, 54-hole event consists of 18 holes per day on the 5904-yard course.
