KITTY HAWK, N.C. – Jayson Judy carded a two-round 145 – including a two-under-par 68 in the first round – as Elon ended up in a tie for sixth place in the 15-team field of the 29th annual Old Dominion/Seascape Collegiate men’s golf tournament Tuesday afternoon on the 6,131-yard Seascape course.
Judy (68-77–145) led all Phoenix golfers, finishing in a tie for eighth place in the 77-player field of the 36-hole event for his first top-10 finish of the fall season. Elon, which peaked at third place entering the second round, also received scorecards from Stephen Dressel (Tied-27th/74-76–150), Phil Bartholomew (Tied-42nd/70-83–153), Michael Fekete (Tied-45th/76-79–155) and Alex Luxenburg (75th/85-91–176).
Liberty’s Tobias Pettersson (69-71–140) won a playoff with St. Joseph’s Jim Bea (68-72–140) to capture medalist honors while host Old Dominion (290-289–579) claimed the team title, followed by Campbell (285-301–586), James Madison (293-296–589), USC Upstate (289-308–597) and George Washington (292-307–599) for the top-five places.
Elon (288-315–603), Radford (287-316–603), Liberty (297-306–603), Temple (303-300–603) and Drexel (295-308–603) all tied for sixth place, followed by Binghamton (292-314–606), Towson (299-312–611), St. Bonaventure (303-314–617), George Mason (303-322–625) and St. Joseph’s (311-329–640).
