Widmer Dubbed SoCon Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Elon senior Samantha Widmer placed second out of 51 players in a rain-shortened tournament Tuesday en route to earning Southern Conference Women’s Golfer of the Week honors Wednesday.

The Cayman Islands native led Elon to the team championship at the Diet Coke Wofford Invitational this week after inclement weather forced the cancellation of the final round. Widmer registered a three-over-par 75, placing highest among SoCon participants.
