JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Frederique Bruell put together a two-round 152 as Elon opened in 10th place in the 15-team field on the first day of the inaugural Eagle Landing Invitational women’s golf tournament Monday on the 6,282-yard, par-72 Eagle Landing Country Club course.
Entering the third and final round at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Bruell (75-77–152) sits in a tie for 21st place in the 81-golfer event. Danielle Mills (Tied-34th place/79-75–154), Tara McFadden (Tied-34th place/ 81-73–154), Virginia Mayer (Tied-55th place/82-77–159) and Lauren Lebak (Tied-71st place/83-82–165) are also representing the Phoenix.
East Carolina’s Amber Littman (74-67–141), Kennesaw State’s Ashley Agiulera (72-69–141) and South Florida’s Rachel Edwards (69-73–142) lead the individual standings. The Phoenix followed up a first-round 317 with a second-round 302 in the first 36 holes of the 54-hole tournament.
Chattanooga (583) leads the team standings, followed by Kennesaw State (589), South Florida (592), East Carolina (592), Yale (605), Southern Mississippi (609), Penn State (610), Illinois (610), host James Madison (614), Elon (619), Iowa (625), Barry (627), UNC Greensboro (633), Jacksonville (642) and High Point (648).
