STOCKBRIDGE, Ga. – Danielle Mills fashioned an even-par 72 as Elon carded a 311 to end up in ninth place in the 13-team field at the 16th Annual John Kirk/Panther Intercollegiate women’s golf tournament Tuesday afternoon on the 6,074-yard Eagle’s Landing Country Club course.
In addition to Mills (Tied-16th place/76-78-72–226), Tara McFadden (Tied-19th place/77-75-75–227), Frederique Bruell (Tied-39th place/77-76-80–233), Lauren Lebak (60th place/82-81-84–247) and Dani Mullin (64th place/81-84-87–252) also represented the Phoenix in the two-day, three-round event. Host Georgia State’s Sandra Maier (216) topped the 68-player field.
Georgia State (886) won the 13-team, 54-hole event, followed by Furman (895), Chattanooga (896), East Tennessee State (898), Campbell (905), Jacksonville State (915), UNC Greensboro (920), Augusta State (927), Elon (932), Maryland (933), Western Carolina (937), James Madison (941) and Miami (DNF).
Entering the final month of the regular season, Mills (third place/74.84 scoring average), Bruell (13th place/76.60 scoring average) and McFadden (14th place/76.72 scoring average) all rank among the 10-team Southern Conference’s top-15 golfers.
