ELON, N.C. – Elon volleyball coach Mary Tendler has announced the addition of Tina Readling as a volunteer assistant coach for the 2010 season. With over 11 years of volleyball coaching experience, Readling has most recently served as the head coach at Alamance Christian School.
"It has been great for the players and me to have three coaches in the gym,” Tendler said. “Tina is a confident coach with an outgoing personality that brings a lot of energy to the gym. Her presence has already made a difference and we are glad that she has joined our program."
Readling also serves at the head 18s coach of the Piedmont Volleyball Club and as the Assistant Volleyball Director at the Greensboro Sportsplex. Prior to that, she served as the Assistant Director and Head Coach of the Alamance Force Volleyball Club.
"I am grateful to Coach Tendler and Coach Clifton for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of Phoenix volleyball this season," said Readling. "The team has made me feel welcome and I look forward to being here every day to work with the coaches and players. I feel privileged to be a part of Elon volleyball at such an exciting time as we are all eagerly anticipating a run for the conference title this year."
Readling was named the team MVP of the Bryan College volleyball team in 1997 and was named the Female Athlete of the Year following her senior season. She graduated Bryan with a bachelor’s degree in English education in 1999. Readling and her husband Josh reside in Whitsett, N.C.
