Cross Country
Elon at Southern Conference Championships, Saturday, Oct. 29, Charleston, S.C.
• Both the men’s and women’s teams are coming off strong performances at the Royal Cross Country Challenge on Oct. 14 where the women finished second and the men fourth. The teams also adding five new times to the all-time performance lists.
• The women finished fifth and the men sixth at last year’s SoCon Championships. Sophomores
Jackie Madden,
Allyson Oram,
Ben Perron and
Nick Schneider all earned all-freshman honors.
• Oram,
Morgan Denecke,
Haylee Dawe and
Emily Tryon own four of the top 12 conference times this season, while
Luis Vargas and
Sean Magee hold the 11
th and 14
th best times for the men, respectively.

Elon at Wofford, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 1:30 p.m., Spartanburg, S.C.
• Wide receiver
Aaron Mellette caught eight passes for 107 yards against Chattanooga. It was the fourth straight 100-yard game for Mellette and the 12th of his career.
• Elon travels to nationally-ranked Wofford this week for a 1:30 p.m. contest at Gibbs Stadium.
• The road team has won the last five games in this series which Elon trails 11-23.
Men’s Golf
Elon at ODU/Outerbanks Invitational, Sunday – Tuesday, Oct. 23 – 25, Kitty Hawk, N.C.
• Elon ended Sunday's first round in 15th place among the 18 teams in the ODU/Outerbanks Invitational with a score of 303.
• The Phoenix was led by
Tanner Norton who shot a two-over 74 to sit in a tie for 34th out of 90 players in the field.
Men’s Soccer (5-9-1, 1-4-0)
Elon at College of Charleston, Tuesday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m., Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
Elon vs. UNCG, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7 p.m., Rudd Field
• Elon will play its final two regular-season league contests this week when it travels to College of Charleston and hosts UNCG for Senior Night.
• The Phoenix suffered a 1-0 loss to CofC last year, snapping a three-game winning streak against the Cougars. CofC holds the 10-3 all-time series advantage against Elon.
• The match against UNCG is always a great rivalry with last year’s result coming down to a double overtime goal off the foot of
Gabe Latigue for the Elon road victory. The Phoenix has won three straight against the Spartans.
Volleyball (16-10, 4-6 SoCon)
Elon at Western Carolina, Saturday, Oct. 29 at 3 p.m., Cullowhee, N.C.
Elon at Appalachian State, Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m., Boone, N.C.
• Elon picked up its first SoCon road win of the season last Friday after a sweep at Wofford (25-19, 25-17, 25-22).
• Freshman
Kris Harris led the Elon offensive attack against Wofford recording 12 kills off 18 attempts and no errors to hit .667. The freshman averaged 3.00 kills per set last week with a .512 hitting percentage.
• The Phoenix defeated both the Catamounts, 3-0, and the Mountaineers, 3-1, earlier this season. Elon is one of only two conference losses for App. State this season.
Women’s Golf
Elon at Palmetto Intercollegiate, Sunday – Monday, Oct. 23 – 24, Kiawah Island, S.C.
• The Phoenix sits in sixth place after play was suspended in Sunday's second round. Elon had a mark of 583 when play ended.
• Three of Elon's five golfers had completed their two rounds.
Kristi Ingram sat fourth with a 144 (71-73) after her two rounds.
Women’s Soccer (6-7-4, 4-3-2 SoCon)
Elon at UNCG, Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 7 p.m., Greensboro, N.C.
Southern Conference Tournament, Sunday, Oct. 30, TBA
• Elon finished with a 2-0 record this past weekend after posting wins against Appalachian State and Western Carolina.

Kendall Stanley netted Elon's lone goal in a 1-0 shutout over ASU on Oct. 20 after two great passes from goalie
Kate Murphy and
Simi Dhaliwal.
• Dhaliwal's header in the 110th minute lifted Elon to a 2-1 win in its Senior Day match against Western Carolina on Sunday, Oct. 30, at Rudd Field. Dhaliwal leaped in the air and headed in great pass by
Olivia Mackey with nine seconds left on the clock for the golden goal.
• Following Wednesday's regular-season finale at UNCG, the Phoenix begins the first round of the 2011 Southern Conference Tournament on Sunday, Oct. 30, at campus sites.
