FINAL RESULTS
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The Elon women's golf team concluded its second fall event on Tuesday, finishing 12th at the UNCG Starmount Fall Classic with a three-round score of 957 (320-317-320).
Elon's top finisher was
Martyna Mierzwa who placed in a tie for 29th out of the 75 players in the field with a score of 236 (80-75-81). Mierzwa posted five birdies over her three rounds.
After shooting a 239 (81-78-80),
Shannon Prunty placed in a tie for 37th.
Virginia Mayer fired a 242 (78-83-81) to tie for 45th while
Lauren Lebak placed in a tie for 54th with a mark of 245 (81-81-83).
Finally,
Kristi Ingram posted her best round of the tournament on Tuesday, shooting a 78 over her final 18 holes. Ingram tied for 61st with a three-round mark of 250 (85-87-78).
Georgia State's Charlotte Lorentzen carded a 218 (75-69-74) to win medalist honors.
Maryland shot a tournament-low round of 290 on Tuesday to soar into the top spot on the team leaderboard. The Terps posted a final score of 901 (303-308-290) to take the team title. East Tennessee State (304-302-302--908) was second in the 14-team field while UNCG (304-308-305--917) was third. Campbell, ranked 44th in the country, placed fourth with a mark of 920 (313-305-302).
In a fifth-place tie with a score of 921 were Furman (306-306-309) and Georgia State (307-306-308).
The Phoenix edged out High Point (325-324-318--967) and Wofford (330-330-324--984).
Elon will next play in the Lady Pirate Intercollegiate on Oct. 10-11 in Greenville, N.C.
