ELON, N.C. – Elon University head women’s tennis coach Elizabeth Anderson has announced the addition of Taylor Casey for the 2012-13 season.
Taylor Casey Signing

“I am thrilled with the signing of Taylor Casey. She is a perfect fit for Elon and will make a positive impact in every area,” Anderson said. “Taylor is an outstanding student and a very hard worker on and off the court.  She fit in instantly with the team and I am very impressed by her team-oriented attitude.”

A native of Duluth Ga., Casey ranked as a four-star recruit by www.tennisrecruiting.net and with her strong work ethic, she has increased her national ranking by over 150 spots over the past year. Casey is ranked 159th nationally, 38th in the Southeast Region and 10th in the state of Georgia. In the USTA Girls 18 and under, Casey was named to the Prince Hot 100 List, which recognizes the most improved players of the month in the United States. At Lambert High School, Casey was a 2010 state runner up.

Casey and current Phoenix women’s tennis standout Jordan Johnston trained together at Windward Tennis Academy under coach Henry Darko.

“Taylor is going to bring so much positive determination and energy to the team,” added Anderson. “She has a very strong game and I am confident that her best tennis is ahead of her. I am looking forward to her arrival in September.”
