BLOOMINGTON, N.C. – Veronica Day recorded a leap of 40’2” in the triple jump at the NCAA East Preliminary today, May 27. The senior placed fifth in her flight of 12 competitors for an overall finish of 26th.

The Vienna, Va., native ends her career at Elon with a total of five indoor and outdoor records to her name, as well as the 2011 Southern Conference indoor and outdoor triple jump titles. Her accomplishments this year earned her the SoCon Women’s Outdoor Field Athlete of the Year and the Elon Athletics’ Basnight Female Athlete of the Year awards.
