RALEIGH, N.C. – The Elon track and field team set two records today, March 31, in the final day of competition at the Raleigh Relays.
Records came in the 4x100-meter and 4x200-meter relays. The 4x100 team, comprised of
Dana Cataldo,
Amy Salek,
Bria Bell and
Veronica Luedke, clocked a record time of 47.14 for eighth out of the 19 teams in the race. The 4x200 team, which included Cataldo, Bell, Luedke and Salek, claimed sixth with a new record time of 1:39.43. The 4x400-meter relay team took eighth out of 30 teams with a time of 3:46.11 by members Bell, Luedke,
Louise Prevoteau and Sakek.
Luedke took 14
th in the 400-meter hurdles after posting a 1:03.87, while Abigail Steinsiek finished 50
th with a time of 1:10.07. Cataldo earned 14
th in the 200-meter dash, clocking a 25.79.
In the javelin,
Suzanne Martin took 13
th with a heave of 119’2”.
Alyssa Girvin earned 30
th in the hammer throw after a throw of 140’6”, while
Charlise Morgan made a toss of 132’10” for 35
th.
Elon will send athletes to both the Duke Invitational and the Liberty Collegiate Invitational next week, Friday – Saturday, April 6 – 7.
