Women’s Tennis Signs Four for 2014-15 Season

ELON, N.C. –
Elon University head women's tennis coach Elizabeth Anderson announced the addition of Erica Braschi (Dorado, Puerto Rico/TASIS Dorado), Olivia Lucas (Greenville, S.C./Christ Church Episcopal), Bridget Liddell (Wellington, New Zealand/Queen Margaret College) and Kirsten Ward (Statesville, N.C./Laurel Springs) for the 2014-15 season.
 
"I am thrilled with the signing of Erica, Olivia, Bridget and Kirsten," stated Anderson. "I am confident they will each make a strong impact at Elon, both in the classroom and on the court. This is an extremely accomplished class.  They are all very hardworking and eager to reach their full potential academically and athletically."

A native of Dorado, Puerto Rico, Braschi was named TASIS Dorado's team MVP in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, she represented Puerto Rico in the Junior Fed Cup in the Dominican Repulic. Braschi also represented Puerto Rico at the Women's Fed Cup in Mexico in 2012 and was the Copa Coqui ITF doubles champion in 2013. She was a four-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.com.
 
A native of Greenville, S.C., Lucas was an integral part of leading her high school team to four state championships, earning all-state and all-region honors every season. Lucas won the Mark Hodgin Junior Sportsmanship Award in 2012 and was the 1A Player of the Year in 2010 and 2012. She was a four-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.com.
 
A native of Wellington, New Zealand, Liddell is a two-time under 16s national champion and a three-time under 16s doubles national champion. She was chosen for the 18s N2L team the last three years and played in the Australian Open juniors. Liddell received a NCEA merit endorsement in 2011 and 2012 as well.
 
A native of Statesville, N.C., Ward won the 2013 Greensboro Summer Circuit ITA title in singles and the NC State Closed Doubles 18s doubles title in 2013 and 2012. In 2011, Ward won the Girls 18s Tarheel Qualifiers singles championship. She ranked No. 20 in the South (G18s) in 2013 and was a four-star recruit on tennisrecruiting.com.
