Rounds 1-2

WALLACE, N.C. -- Competing in its first tournament in nearly a month, the Elon women's golf team shot a 631 (322-309) over its first two rounds at the UNCW Seahawk Classic on Saturday.  

The Phoenix sits 11th in the 14-team field with one round to play.

Leading the way for the maroon and gold was Emily Brooks who shot a 155 (81-74) during her two rounds on Saturday.  Brooks is tied for 19th out of 74 participants.

A pair of Elon golfers carded two-round marks of 157 to tie for 25th.  Martyna Mierzwa notched rounds of 78 and 79 to reach her 157 while Sunna Vidisdottir posted rounds of 81 and 76.

Diana Davis will begin Sunday's final round in a tie for 43rd after shooting a 162 (82-80) over her first two rounds of action.

Finally, Kathryn Buckingham's 170 (89-81) has her tied for 60th.

UNCG's Fanny Cnops (74-72--146) is the individual leader following two rounds.  She has a one stroke leadon both Princeton's Kelly Shon (72-75) and UNC Wilmington's Lori Beth Adams (73-74).

Host UNC Wilmington's 613 (305-308) has the Seahawks atop the team standings after day one.  The remainder of the top five includes Old Dominion (616), UNCG (616), Princeton (617) and Georgia State (618).
