ELON, N.C. – Winners of three straight, the Elon University women's soccer team opens its Colonial Athletic Association schedule with a pair of home matches this weekend against preseason league favorite Hofstra (Friday, Sept. 26) and Northeastern (Sunday, Sept. 28). Sunday's game against Northeastern will be broadcasted live on Phoenix All-Access.

ELON VS. HOFSTRA: Friday night marks the first meeting between the Phoenix and Pride.

SCOUTING HOFSTRA: Hofstra enters Friday's match with a 5-4 mark this season, which includes a 2-1 win over Duke on Sept. 12 at the Virginia Nike Soccer Classic. Hofstra was tabbed the preseason favorite in the CAA and junior forward Leah Galton was named the CAA Preseason Player of the Year. Galton is a MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List honoree, which is an award given to the nation's top player. As a team, Hofstra leads the CAA with 26 total goals this season. The Pride ranks last in the CAA in goals given up with 15.

ELON VS. NORTHEASTERN: Sunday marks the first meeting between Elon and Northeastern.

SCOUTING NORTHEASTERN: The Huskies (5-3-2-) face off against William & Mary on Friday night before taking on the Phoenix on Sunday. Northeastern is coming off a 2-0 win over Albany on Sept. 21. Hannah Lopicolo is the leading scorer for the Huskies with two goals and two assists this season. The Huskies rank fifth in the league in scoring with 11 total goals and lead the CAA in goals allowed with three.

HOME SWEET HOME: Following Sunday's match against the Huskies, Elon has only two remaining home games this season on Oct. 10 and 12.

LOOKING AHEAD: Following this weekend's action, Elon heads to the coast for a pair of matches at College of Charleston (Oct. 3) and UNC Wilmington (Oct. 5).

LOOKING BACK: Elon won its third straight match following a 2-0 decision over Gardner-Webb on Sept. 19 at Rudd Field.

Sydney Schilling both scored for the maroon and gold in the victory, as head coach Chris Neal earned his 100th career win as a head coach.
