ELON, N.C. – Senior Eduardo Alvarez of the Elon University men's soccer team was named to TopDrawerSoccer.com's National Team of the Week as released by the website on Tuesday morning, Oct. 20.
 
Alvarez helped the Phoenix go 2-0 last week in a pair of Colonial Athletic Association matches. The Reitoca, Honduras, native scored a goal in its 2-1 victory at No. 24 UNCW last Wednesday, Oct. 14, converting his second penalty kick of the season. He then had an assist in the Phoenix's 2-1 victory over defending CAA tournament champion, James Madison, on Saturday, Oct. 17.
 
Alvarez is currently tied for the team-lead in goals scored with five and is tied for second on the squad in total points with 12.
 
Elon is back in action on the pitch this evening with a nonconference road contest at Duke. That match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
