LOOKING BACK: Elon is coming off a 6-1 win over the Davidson Wildcats, which moved the team's season record to 13-6.
Erica Braschi and
Taylor Casey continued their phenomenal doubles play and moved their winning streak to five matches and season record to 11-1. In singles play,
Olivia Lucas is on a six-match winning streak, while holding an 11-5 season record.
Kirsten Ward is holding a four-match winning streak, as well.
SENIOR DAY: The match on Saturday will be Senior Day for
Maria Camara Ruiz and
Barbora Lazarova. Camara Ruiz is currently looking at an 8-6 singles record and 5-6 doubles record in this season. She sits at sixth among Elon players with her career singles winning percentage at 66-percent, she is also fifth in total winning percentage with 64-percent. Lazarova stands 10-7 in singles this season, and 7-9 in doubles, including a 5-4 record with
Kirsten Ward. Lazarova was named SoCon Player of the Week in March of 2014 and picked up CAA Player of the Week honors this season on March 17. Lazarova received Academic All-SoCon honors in 2014 in addition to second-team All-SoCon in doubles. Both players have put their best into the program and look to leave a legacy following this season.
CAA CHAMPIONSHIP: Elon will be heading to Williamsburg, Va. home of the William & Mary Tribe for the CAA women's tennis championship. The matches begin Thursday, April 16 and end Sunday, April 19.
