ELON, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team begins its fall season this weekend, Sept. 11-13, when the Phoenix hosts the annual Elon Fall Invitational at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center.
 
"We are looking forward to our annual Elon Fall Invitational," said head coach Elizabeth Anderson. "This year's tournament is our largest and we are looking forward to hosting 16 outstanding teams. We hope the Elon community will come out and watch some great tennis this weekend at the Jimmy Powell Tennis Center."
 
The following 15 schools, in addition to the Phoenix, will be making the trip to Elon for the event: Liberty, UNC Asheville, Furman, Wake Forest, Western Carolina, Georgia Southern, USC Upstate, UNC Greensboro, Chattanooga, Winthrop, Richmond, Emory, N.C. Central, George Washington and N.C. A&T.
 
Play begins at 9 a.m. Friday. Admission is free.
