CAA Signs Broadcast Deal with Lax Sports Network

RICHMOND, Va. – The Colonial Athletic Association has signed a broadcast agreement with Lax Sports Network, the conference announced Thursday afternoon. The agreement is set to bring unprecedented coverage of the CAA's lacrosse programs.

Each week, Lax Sports Network will produce a "CAA Game of the Week" broadcast that includes five women's regular-season games during the 2017 season. Additionally, the network will provide live coverage of the semifinals of the CAA Women's Lacrosse Championship.

On top of the "Game of the Week" telecasts, Lax Sports Network will also produce live pregame, halftime and postgame shows for each selected game. The network will be involved in promoting CAA lacrosse through its various social media platforms. Games that will air on LSN are still to be determined, but will be announced at a later date.

"The CAA is extremely pleased to be able to enter into a partnership with the Lax Sports Network," CAA Commissioner Joe D'Antonio said. "Being able to increase the exposure of CAA men's and women's lacrosse, and showcase the talent we have in our Conference, has been firmly on my radar, as well and the radar of our coaches and administrators.  The opportunity to join with an organization that is well known and respected in the lacrosse community is certainly a step in the right direction for the CAA and our member institutions. I would like to thank Rob Wallace from Lax Sports Network as well as CAA media rights advisors Mike Schreck and Ray Katz from Collegiate Sports Management Group for working with me to finalize this agreement."

With the semifinals now televised, all three tournament games will now be televised. This year's final is set to air on American Sports Network for the third year in a row.

Elon is set to open its 2017 campaign on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 1 p.m. against Campbell. The Phoenix opens the year with four of the team's first five games at home. The lone road trip during that stretch is to ACC foe Virginia on Saturday, Feb. 11.
