FINAL RESULTS

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Elon University women's tennis team competed at the ITA Carolinas Regional tournament, which was highlighted by singles performances from Montana Moore, Oct. 19-22, at the Cone-Kenfield Tennis Center.
 
The tournament featured all of the top women's tennis players from the states of North Carolina and South Carolina. Moore won her qualifying singles matches to earn a spot in the main draw. She was then able to advance to the Round of 32 before getting knocked out by South Carolina's Mia Horvit.
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Moore opened the tournament in qualifying singles with a victory over Appalachian State's Teodora Sevo, 4-6, 7-6 (7), 6-3. She clinched a spot in the main draw with an impressive 6-0, 1-6, 7-5 victory over No. 9-seeded Rebecca Smaller of Duke.
 
The Bradenton, Fla. native continued her winning ways in the singles main draw earning a opening round 6-0, 6-0 victory over Sandra Bolstad of Gardner-Webb to advance to the Round of 32. Moore's tournament came to an end as she fell to No. 26-ranked Mia Horvit of South Carolina, 6-2, 6-1, who was the No. 9-seed in the main draw.
 
Additionally for the Phoenix, Suzanne Zenoni picked up a win in the main draw singles consolation bracket. After being ousted by No. 9 seed and No. 20-ranked Meible Chi of Duke in the opening round of the main draw, she picked up a 6-4, 3-6, 1-0 (10-7) victory over Maria Zacarias of Appalachian State in the opening round of the consolation bracket.
 
Olivia Lucas also picked up a win as the No. 10 seed in qualifying singles. She defeated Gabrielle Centenari of Davidson, 6-1, 6-3, before falling in a three-setter, 7-5, 4-6, 6-0, to Sara Bondar of Coastal Carolina.
 
Erica Braschi was another automatic qualifier into the main draw for the Phoenix, but she fell in her first round match to South Carolina's Nikolina Jovic.
 
In doubles action, Alex Koniaev and Lucas paired up to win their opening round match 8-3 against Rylie Cox and Iryna Vardania of Coastal Carolina. The would then get knocked out after a tight match against Ruiz and Schroeder of Clemson with an 8-7 (2) loss in the second round.
