CARY, N.C. – Elon University men's tennis continued its fall season with the completion of the annual ITA Carolina Regionals, Oct. 12-16, at the Cary Tennis Center.
 
Kyle Frankel highlighted the tournament for the Phoenix winning four singles matches. Additionally, Felipe Sarrasague and Felipe Osses-Konig each posted two wins in the singles main draw, while doubles duo of Camilo Ponce and Taylor Foote earned an upset victory over a seeded-NC State doubles team in the tournament.
 
THE RUNDOWN
Frankel posted a team-best four singles wins during the tournament. After falling in his first-round match in the main draw, he earned four straight victories in the consolation bracket. He earned wins against USC Upstate, NC State, Charlotte, and Wake Forest.
 
In singles action main draw action, Sarrasague advanced to the third round with victories over Michael Agee of Clemson and Maximillian Benson of Presbyterian. He was then eliminated in the third round by No. 1-overall seed Paul Jubb of South Carolina. Osses-Konig had equal success to Sarrasague in singles play. He earned a first round victory over Leonardo Menezes of Charlotte and then picked up a second-round win over Jaime Castillo Lopez of Presbyterian before falling to Joe Brailovsky of South Carolina in the third round. Additionally, Mario Paccini and Jacob Bicknell earned a first-round wins in the singles main draw.
 
In doubles action, Phoenix duo of Foote and Ponce upset No. 16-seeded Michael Ogden and Colin Shick of NC State to advance to the second round of the main draw. They would go on to lose in the second round to Bastein Huon and Ondrej Labik of Campbell.

Elon continues its fall season with the NC State Invitational at the end of the month, Oct. 27-28, in Raleigh, N.C.
