RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Bre'anna Warren of the Elon University women's track and field team was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Field Athlete of the Week as announced on Tuesday afternoon, March 27, by the league office.
 
Warren won the discus throw event at the Winthrop Adidas Invitational last weekend, March 24-25, throwing a mark of 163' 3" (49.75m) – the best in the CAA so far this season. The Greensboro, N.C., native also was the runner-up in the shot put and the top collegiate thrower in the event with her throw of 47'9.25" (14.56m). Warren concluded her weekend with a new personal-record in the hammer throw with a heave of 166' 8.75" (50.81m), moving into the program's top-five performance list. She would finish sixth overall in the event.
 
The Phoenix returns to competition this weekend, March 30-31, at the prestigious Raleigh Relays at NC State.
