WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Elon University women's tennis fell to the No. 12-ranked Wake Forest Demon Deacons 7-0 on Sunday afternoon, March 4, at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
 
Erica Braschi and Montana Moore highlighted Elon's (7-7) performances with tight singles matches against the Deacs (9-4). Wake Forest improves to 5-1 all-time against the Phoenix with the win.

"This weekend was very valuable match experience for our team," said head coach Elizabeth Anderson. "We got to battle through adversity and our players improved a lot throughout the weekend. The experience gained from these matches will help us continue to improve and prepare for our upcoming matches. We're looking forward to being back at home this weekend against UNCW" 
 
HIGHLIGHTS
Wake Forest took the early 1-0 advantage sweeping all three doubles courts. The Phoenix kept two of the doubles matches close as Suzanne Zenoni and Kirsten Ward fell in a tight 6-4 contest on court three, while Braschi and Lucas fell 6-3 at the No. 2 position.
 
The Deacs got off to a swift start in singles play and won all six courts to complete the shutout. Wake Forest would win courts four, one and three, in that order, to clinch the victory. Chandler Carter's 6-2, 6-4 win at No. 3 sealed the win for the Deacs.
 
Erica Braschi and Montana Moore each had close matches to close out singles action. Moore's match finished first as she fell 6-3, 6-3 against Alexis Franco. Braschi's contest would finish last as she fell 6-4, 6-2 to No. 63-ranked Eliza Omirou.
