ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball will be back in action on Thursday, Dec. 5, when it travels to High Point, N.C. for a 7 p.m. matchup with in-state rival High Point.

COVERAGE
• Elon's contest against High Point will be streamed live on ESPN +.
• Listen to the Elon IMG Sports Network coverage on Phoenix All-Access or on the TuneIn app. Taylor Durham and Brian Morris will have the call from Millis Center, with the pregame show beginning at 6:30 p.m.

THE MATCHUP
• This marks the 185th time that Elon and High Point will meet in program history, with Elon trailing in the series 90-94.
• The Phoenix defeated High Point 70-46 in their most recent meeting on Mar. 1, 2003.
 
ABOUT ELON
• So far this season, Elon is off to a 3-6 start, with both wins on the year coming at Schar Center.
• The Phoenix is led by senior guard Marcus Sheffield who is posting 17.4 points per game to go along with 4.9 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest.
• Hunter Woods and Hunter McIntosh are combining to average 19.6 points and 8.2 rebounds per outing.
• Simon Wright leads the team in rebounding at 5.9 per game, adding 7.0 points per game as well.
• Elon is led by first year head coach Mike Schrage, who spent two seasons as an assistant at Ohio State before becoming Elon's head coach.
• The Phoenix have no seniors on the roster with the exception of graduate transfer Marcus Sheffield, who earned a Preseason All-CAA honorable mention.
• Additionally, the Phoenix made six new additions to the squad for 2019-20 in first-year players Hunter McIntosh, Hunter Woods, Zac Ervin and Ben Daugherty, while also adding two transfers in Marcus Sheffield (Stanford) and Jerald Gillens-Butler (Butler).
 
SCOUTING HIGH POINT
• High Point is a Division I institution out of High Point, N.C. that competes in the Big South.
• The Panthers are off to a 1-7 start this season after falling to North Florida 93-70 in their most recent contest.
• High Point is in its second season under head coach Tubby Smith, who spent time at Memphis prior to joining the Panthers program.
• The Panthers are led by Curtis Holland III, who leads the team in scoring at 13.1 points per game.
 
LAST TIME OUT
• In its most recent outing, Elon earned its third win of the season, 70-46, over Kennesaw State.
• The Phoenix was led by freshman guard Hunter McIntosh who dropped career-highs in points (19), rebounds (5) and threes (5) on the evening. Marcus Sheffield (18 points, four rebounds, three assists) and Hunter Woods (15 points, four rebounds) also made major contributions in the win.

UP NEXT
Following that game, Elon have nine days off before returning to action on Dec. 14, against N.C. Wesleyan. That game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Schar Center.
