LAST TIME OUT
-Overpowered early by No. 14 Virginia, Elon settled in but couldn't respond to the early deficit in falling 11-4 at home to the Cavaliers on Saturday, Feb. 16.
-UVA scored the first three goals of the game before Elon got on the board. Though Elon had two different stretches of 15 and 21 minutes without allowing a goal, it couldn't break through the UVA defense and the Cavaliers' quick-strike offense helped Virginia move to 2-0 on the young season.

SCOUTING WINTHROP
-Out of the gate, Winthrop is 0-3 this season with a 13-12 road loss at East Carolina and home losses by the scores of 4-12 and 5-10 against Davidson and Liberty, respectively.
-The Eagles are led by Lauren Morris, who has five goals and four assists for nine points to go with 16 draw controls on the season. Mia Creighton has also tallied five times and McKenna Blick has scored four times on the year.
-In all, Winthrop is averaging 7.0 goals per game while allowing 11.7 per outing thus far.

THE SERIES

-Last season, Winthrop took a 14-9 decision in Conway, S.C. The year before that, Elon defeated the Eagles 13-5 at Rudd Field.

MAE-KING A NAME
-Mae McGlynn has burst onto the scene in 2019 with eight goals across Elon's first two games, scoring five on the road at Campbell with three more against No. 14 Virginia.
-The sophomore from Skaneateles, N.Y., scored just two times during her 2018 rookie campaign, but has already scored eight of Elon's 19 goals this season.
-She was named CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after her five goals in the win over Campbell.

In her four years in maroon and gold, Asher scored a program record 179 goals and had 32 assists for 211 points. She also had 155 draw controls, including 76 in her senior seasons in 2018.
