ELON, N.C. – Closing out the month of March, Elon University women's lacrosse will take on its fifth consecutive nationally-ranked opponent on Wednesday, March 27, with a visit to the 23rd-ranked High Point Panthers. Opening draw is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.

SCOUTING HIGH POINT
-HPU owns a 5-4 record on the season with victories over Furman, Old Dominion, Marquette, No. 14 John's Hopkins and Towson. The Panthers also battled against No. 2 UNC and No. 16 Florida, falling 13-9 to the Tar Heels and 16-15 to the Gators. 
-Led by Ashley Britton's 29 goals and four assists for 33 points, she's assisted by Abby Hormes' 22 goals and 10 assists for 32 points. Hormes also has a team-best 32 draw controls.
-In goal, Sarah Zeto has started all nine games for the Panthers and is 4-4 with a .424 save percentage. Jill Rall has appeared in five games and has played 106 minutes on the season, amassing a .565 save percentage while allowing just 10 goals thus far.

THE SERIES
-Elon leads the series with the Panthers 3-2 after taking three consecutive victories from 2015-17.
-Last season, the Panthers came back to erase a late deficit to force overtime and won 14-13 in the extra period in rainy conditions at Rhodes Stadium. 
-Last time Elon visited HPU, it came away with a 12-8 victory on March 22, 2016. 

LAST TIME OUT
-On the road against the 21st-ranked Virginia Tech Hokies, Elon led early in the first half but VT used three runs of at least four goals to pull away for the 16-8 win.
-Kaley Thompson matched her career high with four goals on the day. She also collected six draw controls and a ground ball. 

PRESEASON ALL-CAA LISTS
-Elon was picked third in the CAA for the third consecutive season. The Phoenix has reached the CAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed in each of the last three seasons and has battled second-seeded Towson on all three occasions in the semifinals.
-Quinn Daly was picked as a Preseason All-CAA honorable mention in 2019 after earning CAA All-Rookie accolades after her first season in 2018.

CAA WEEKLY HONORS
-Mae McGlynn was named the CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after her five-goal performance against Campbell in the season opener.
-Bella Feldman was tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 11 after scoring four goals at Campbell in her collegiate debut.
-Kaley Thompson picked up CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 26 after a week with four goals, five assists and 13 draw controls in Elon's two games. Against Winthrop, Thompson finished with four goals, four assists and eight draw controls. 

ELON ON LAX SPORTS NETWORK
-This season, Elon will be features on Lax Sports Network twice in April during CAA play.
-First, the Phoenix will meet Towson on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
-Elon's second appearance on LSN will come Friday, April 19, when it meets defending national champion James Madison at 5 p.m.
-The 2019 CAA Championships in Harrisonburg, Va., will also air on LSN.

UP NEXT
-Set to open CAA action, the Phoenix will welcome Drexel to Rudd Field on Friday, April 5, for a 6 p.m. contest. The game is set to air on Phoenix All-Access and marks the start of Elon's run at making its fourth-straight CAA Tournament appearance.
