ELON, N.C. – In the midst of a three-game homestand, Elon University women's lacrosse will welcome its second-straight ranked opponent with the 16th-ranked Florida Gators set to visit the Phoenix on Thursday, March 7, at 5 p.m. at Rudd Field.

LAST TIME OUT
-After Elon tied the game at one in the opening minutes, No. 15 Duke went on a 10-0 run to take a commanding lead on the way to an 18-5 final. 
-Elon outscored the Blue Devils 3-1 in the second half with Mae McGlynn scoring twice and assisting on the third goal in the half. 

SCOUTING FLORIDA
-The Gators are 1-3 in the early going in 2019 with the lone win a 16-9 win on the road against No. 17 Colorado. 
-Though 1-3, the team's three losses are a 17-12 loss to No. 2 Maryland, a 15-12 road loss to No. 16 Loyola (Md.) and a 14-13 road loss to No. 17 Navy. 
-Lindsey Ronbeck leads Florida with 19 goals and two assists for 21 points. Sabrina Cristodero leads the team with 17 draw controls and Haley Hicklen leads the team with 12 ground balls. 

THE SERIES
-Elon and Florida will meet for the first time on Thursday. 
-Thursday's game also represents Elon's first game against an opponent from the American. 

MAE-KING A NAME
-Mae McGlynn has burst onto the scene in 2019 with 20 goals across Elon's first six games, scoring five on the road at Campbell, five against Winthrop and four more against Davidson.
-The sophomore from Skaneateles, N.Y., scored just two times during her 2018 rookie campaign.
-She was named CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after her five goals in the win over Campbell. 

PRESEASON ALL-CAA LISTS
-Elon was picked third in the CAA for the third consecutive season. The Phoenix has reached the CAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed in each of the last three seasons and has battled second-seeded Towson on all three occasions in the semifinals.
-Quinn Daly was picked as a Preseason All-CAA honorable mention in 2019 after earning CAA All-Rookie accolades after her first season in 2018.

CAA WEEKLY HONORS
-Mae McGlynn was named the CAA Player of the Week on Feb. 11 after her five-goal performance against Campbell in the season opener.
-Bella Feldman was tabbed CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 11 after scoring four goals at Campbell in her collegiate debut.
-Kaley Thompson picked up CAA Rookie of the Week on Feb. 26 after a week with four goals, five assists and 13 draw controls in Elon's two games. Against Winthrop, Thompson finished with four goals, four assists and eight draw controls. 

LEFTOVERS FROM 2018
-Stephanie Asher led the Phoenix in scoring with 39 goals and eight assists for 47 points. The Glenelg, Md., native was named a First Team All-CAA performer three times in her career and earned Tewaaraton Trophy Watch List honors twice as a junior and senior. In her four years in maroon and gold, Asher scored a program record 179 goals and had 32 assists for 211 points. She also had 155 draw controls, including 76 in her senior seasons in 2018.
-Of Elon's 135 goals scored in 2018, 89 (63.7 percent) of them came from players who graduated following the 2018 season in Asher, Maeve Cowley, Abby Godfrey, Nicole Sinacori, Kelsey Dupere, Jacie Cooper, Stephanie Thomson and Bridget Lamb

ELON ON LAX SPORTS NETWORK
-This season, Elon will be features on Lax Sports Network twice in April during CAA play.
-First, the Phoenix will meet Towson on Friday, April 12, at 7 p.m. at Johnny Unitas Stadium.
-Elon's second appearance on LSN will come Friday, April 19, when it meets defending national champion James Madison at 5 p.m.
-The 2019 CAA Championships in Harrisonburg, Va., will also air on LSN.

UP NEXT
-Closing out a three-game homestand, Elon will welcome North Carolina on Tuesday, March 12, at 6 p.m. at Rudd Field.
