Men's Basketball Prepares For Road Matchup With Charleston

ELON, N.C. – Elon University men's basketball hits the road this weekend for matchups with Charleston on Saturday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 14. Tipoff in both contests is slated for 1 p.m.
 
COVERAGE
- Listen to the Elon Sports Network from Learfield IMG College coverage on the TuneIn app. Taylor Durham will be on the call with the pregame show beginning at 12:30 p.m.
- Elon's game against Charleston will be streamed live on FloSports.

THE MATCHUP
- This marks the 31st time that Elon and Charleston will meet in program history, with the Phoenix trailing in the series 22-8.
- In their most recent meeting, Elon defeated Charleston, 72-65, on Feb. 8, 2020.

ABOUT ELON
- Elon is led by sophomore guard Hunter McIntosh, who leads the team in scoring (17.6 ppg) and assists (2.6 apg).
- Sophomore forward Hunter Woods leads the team in rebounding (7.5 rpg) and is second on the team in scoring (8.9 ppg).
- Federico Poser and Ikenna Ndugba are combining to average 13.7 ppg and 7.4  rpg through 10 games.
- In its most recent outing, Elon fell to JMU, 70-61.
- Simon Wright led the way for the Phoenix, setting career-highs in points (17) and threes (5), while also posting a season-high in rebounds (7).
- Michael Graham was dominant on the defensive end, racking up a career-high six blocks on the night. Graham also set a new career-high with nine points, adding seven rebounds.
- Hunter Woods logged seven points and a season-best 13 rebounds in 34 minutes against JMU.
- Guards Hunter McIntosh and Darius Burford combined for 22 points, five rebounds and three assists in the loss.
- Elon rounded out non-conference play with a 3-1 overall record but is still seeking its first win in CAA play.
- Following its win against Campbell, the Phoenix earned its first 3-0 start to a season in Division I program history.
- Elon's win over N.C. Wesleyan made Schrage the first Elon coach since Bob Burton in 1987-88 to win his first two season openers.

SCOUTING CHARLESTON
- Earl Grant is in the midst of his sixth season at the helm of the Charleston program after spending four years as an assistant coach at Clemson.
- Charleston is off to a 7-8 start to the season after defeating Towson in its most recent outing.
- The Cougars are led by Brevin Galloway, who currently averages 15.0 ppg and 3.0 rpg. Charleston has also gotten major contributions from Payton Willis who is posting 13.5 ppg and 3.1 apg this season.
 
UP NEXT
The Phoenix will be back in action on Thursday, Feb. 18, when it plays host to William & Mary. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Schar Center on Elon's campus.
