Elon Women's Tennis Defeats Drexel, 4-1, To Advance To CAA Semifinals

WILLIAMSBURG, VA. - Elon University women's tennis defeated Drexel, 4-1, in the quarterfinals of the 2021 CAA Women's Tennis Tournament on Friday, April 23. The win moved the Phoenix to 17-4 overall this season and extended its winning streak to six matches.

HIGHLIGHTS
- Alison O'Dea clinched the match for the Phoenix, taking down Pauline Kharkover 6-2, 4-6, 6-3 in a three-set battle on Friday afternoon. O'Dea moved to 10-5 in singles play this season and now has a 7-4 record in the No. 6 slot.
- Lizette Reding got things rolling for Elon, defeating Isabel Cabrerizo in straight sets 6-0, 6-2. The victory marked Reding's team-best 16^th singles win this season and moved her to 13-2 in the No. 3 position.
- Sibel Tanik gave the Phoenix a 3-1 lead in the match after fighting back to win her singles match 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 over Cristina Corte. Tanik earned her 13^th singles victory of the season, progressing to 12-4 in the No. 2 slot with the win.
- The combination of Sibel Tanik and Olivia Archer clinched the doubles point for the Phoenix, defeating Tara Veluvolu and Sarka Richterova 6-4.
- Lizette Reding and Alison O'Dea picked up their 11^th doubles victory this season in the match, finishing Isabel Cabrerizo and Cristina Corte 6-2. The tandem now holds a 4-1 mark in No. 1 doubles play.
