ELON, N.C. – The Elon University men's soccer team earned the Team Academic Award from the United Soccer Coaches Association for the Phoenix's performance in the classroom during the 2020-21 academic year.
Elon composed of a team composite grade-point-average of 3.50 and was one of four men's teams in the Colonial Athletic Association that were recognized.
"I think it great that our players get so much from the educational experience offered at Elon, and fantastic that as a group we continue to maintain a high team GPA," said Phoenix head coach
Marc Reeves. "I know how hard many of our student-athletes work to maximize their GPA and uphold the group's high standards. We are truly thankful to the great Elon professors and our support staff, in particular
Karen Neff who does an incredible job of organizing and offering the resources for our student athletes to succeed."
A total of 609 soccer teams (224 men, 385 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2020-21 academic year.
