ELON, N.C. – After four consecutive road matches, the Elon University volleyball team returns home to close out its regular season against Stony Brook on Saturday and Sunday. Both matches are slated for 2 p.m. start times.
Elon will celebrate Senior Day on Sunday, as the team will recognize Leah Daniel, Alex VanWestrienen, HaylIe Clark, Jenn Krzeminski and Claire Richey prior to first serve.

CAA TOURNAMENT TICKET PUNCHED
- With its victory over Hampton on Oct. 30, Elon clinched a spot in the CAA Tournament.
- Eight teams will participate in the tournament on Nov. 17-19. Defending champion Towson will host the event.
- All matches at the CAA Tournament will be streamed live on FloVolleyball.
- Elon is currently alone in third in the conference standings. The Phoenix can clinch the No. 3 seed in the CAA Tournament with two wins this weekend.
- The Phoenix advanced to the CAA championship match for the first time in program history last season. Elon fell in a tight five-set battle against Towson.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Phoenix won a pair of matches at UNCW to bring its Colonial Athletic Association winning streak to five. Elon defeated the Seahawks in straight sets on Saturday and held off a UNCW comeback effort to win in five on Sunday.
- Saturday's victory was Elon's first road win over UNCW since 1980.
- Leah Daniel posted her first double-double of the season and the ninth of her career on Sunday with 21 kills and 10 digs. The 21 kills tied her most in a match this season.
- With 40 assists and 14 digs on Sunday, Haylie Clark delivered her 12th double-double of the season. She also had 34 assists in Saturday's win.
- With six kills on eight attacks on Saturday, Claire Richey delivered her most efficient offensive performance of the season with a .625 hitting percentage. The senior has at least five kills in four matches this season.
- After having her streak of 24 consecutive matches with double-digit digs snapped on Saturday, Jordan Gower led the Phoenix on Sunday with 17. The senior also came within one assist of her first career double-double, as she posted a career-best nine assists.
- Sydney Daniels eclipsed double-digit digs (12) for the fourth time this season in Sunday's win.
- Elon registered 82 digs on Sunday, the second most for the team in a match this season.
- Sunday's match marked the first time this season multiple Elon players have posted a double-double in the same match and the first time two Phoenix players have accomplished the feat since Kellyn Trowse and Haylie Clark did so in last year's CAA championship match against Towson on Nov. 20.
PHOENIX FACTS
- Elon's current five-match winning streak is the team's longest this season and its five straight CAA wins are the most since the team also won five straight from Sept. 17-Oct. 2 last season.
- Leah Daniel's 332 kills and 3.46 kills per set both rank No. 4 in the conference. Elon's all-time leader in kills has reached double-digits 19 times this season, including in each of the last six matches. For just the second time in her career, she is on a three-match streak of hitting at least .300, with the other time coming last season. The senior also leads the team with 28 aces.
- Haylie Clark is third in the conference with 796 assists and fifth in assists per set with 8.21. The senior has tallied double-digit assists in 77 consecutive matches, including every match this season, and has reached 30 assists on 16 occasions. The Saint Cloud, Fla., native also has 12 double-doubles and has delivered at least five kills in seven of the last eight contests.
- With 4.57 digs per set, Jordan Gower leads Elon's back row and ranks second in the conference in the category. The senior has at least 10 digs in all but one appearance this season and has reached 20 digs six times.
- Jenn Krzeminski ranks No. 7 in the CAA in both total blocks (84) and blocks per set (0.98). The senior's .268 hitting percentage also ranks No. 10 in the conference and her 140 kills are the third most on the team.
- Sydney Love is second on the team in kills with 231, as the sophomore has double-digits in 11 matches this season. Love's 0.85 blocks per set are also third best on the team and the highest average for any outside hitter in the CAA.
- Freshman Clara LaRue is averaging 2.37 kills in CAA matches and is tied for third on the team with fellow freshman Brooke Doherty with 2.04 kills per set overall.
- Claire Richey has started each of the last six matches and has posted at least four blocks in five of them. The senior is averaging 0.93 blocks per set in conference matches.
- Alex VanWestrienen leads the Phoenix in aces per set (0.30). The senior has multiple aces in seven matches this season and has hit a team-best 19 aces in CAA play.
- As a team, Elon is second in the CAA in digs per set (15.18) and third in blocks per set (2.18).
- The Phoenix has finished on at least a two-match home winning streak in each of the last two seasons.
THE MATCHUP
- Elon and Stony Brook have never faced each other. This is the first year the two schools have been a member of the same conference, as Stony Brook joined the CAA prior to this season.
- The Phoenix holds a 4-5 record at Schar Center this season while Stony Brook is 3-5 in road matches.
SCOUTING STONY BROOK
- The Seawolves enter the weekend with a 9-14 overall record, including a 4-10 mark in league play.
- Stony Brook is currently alone in ninth place in the conference standings and is one game behind North Carolina A&T for the eighth and final spot in the CAA Tournament.
- Currently on a four-match losing streak, Stony Brook's last victory came on Oct. 16 against Delaware. The Seawolves are coming off a bye weekend.
- Kali Moore leads Stony Brook and ranks No. 5 in the CAA in kills with 281. Leoni Kunz also ranks No. 9 in the conference with 248 kills, as the Seawolves are the only CAA team with multiple players in the top 10 in kills.
- Torri Henry's 793 assists are fourth best in the conference. She has double-digit assists in every match this season and has posted a season-high of 53 on two occasions.
- With 297 digs, Julia Patsos leads the Seawolves and ranks No. 10 in the CAA in the category. The junior was named CAA Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 17 after pacing Stony Brook with 43 digs (6.14 per set) in the team's weekend series against Delaware on Oct. 15-16.
- Abby Campbell (56) and Saige Bradley (55) lead Stony Brook in blocks.
- The Seawolves are led by sixth year head coach Kristin Belzung.
