DURHAM, N.C. – The Elon University women's track and field team concluded competition at the Duke Invitational on Saturday, April 9, at Morris Williams Stadium.
THE RUNDOWN
A pair of personal-records were set in the 800-meters as
Stephanie Lair ran a time of 2:09.56 in 14
th and
Anna Twomey posted a time of 2:11.09 in 19
th.
Alyssa Sandy was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.75 seconds.
Piper Jons was 10
th in the 400-meters to lead Elon with her time of 54.78.
Aliya Barrows set a new personal-record in the race with her time 56.64.
Meghan Wilcox had a season-best time of 24.72 in the 200-meters. She was 11
th in the 100-meters with her time 12.01.
Riley Drometer was ninth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.31 while
Tessa DiPierdomenico was 12
th at her time of 1:04.31.
Elon's 4x400-meter relay team of Barrows, DiPierdomenico, Drometer and Jons ran a season-best time of 3:46.49 and was fifth overall.
Madison George finished ninth in the pole vault with a cleared height of 3.85m.
Grace Dieleman was 12
th in the javelin throw with a toss of 36.76m.
Lauryn Carlton was the Phoenix's leader in the discus throw with a heave of 42.83m while
Kaitlin McGoogan posted a throw of 42.26m.

The Phoenix returns to High Point University for the Meet of Champions next Saturday, April 16.
