MADISON, Wis. – Members of the Elon University women's cross country team competed at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational on Friday, Oct. 13, at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
Racing at a meet featuring some of the top programs and individuals in the country, the Phoenix women scored 686 points in the 6K race and was 29th overall. Several members of the maroon and gold set new personal bests in the race.

Jette Beermann was the top finisher for the Phoenix in the 6K run as the junior posted a new personal-record of 21:04.4. Sophomore
Katie Blount was the second runner to cross the line for Elon with her new personal-best time of 21:06.1. Both times move both runners into the program's top-10 performance list.

Leandra Lorenz made her season debut with a time of 21:20.9 while freshman
Hattie Reynolds posted a time of 21:35.7.

Madison Synowiec (22:10.4),
Maggie Springer (22:35.9) and
Hannah Miller (22:40.0) rounded out the runners that competed for the Phoenix at the Nuttycombe Wisconsin Invitational

• Other members of the Phoenix cross country programs are back on the course tomorrow, Oct. 14, for the XC-23 NCAA Pre-Nationals hosted at the University of Virginia.
