Hattie Reynolds of the Phoenix women's cross country team garnered major awards as the CAA announced its 2023 cross country postseason honors on Thursday morning.
Jermyn won his fifth straight CAA Women's Coach of the Year honor to coincide with the fifth consecutive CAA title for the Elon women's cross country program this past fall. Under Jermyn's guidance this season, the maroon and gold women won three total meets during the year while seeing five members of the program earn All-CAA accolades including three harriers in the top seven. Jette Beermann set the school-record in the 6K at the NCAA Southeast Regional as the Phoenix women finished eighth overall.
Reynolds shared CAA Women's Co-Rookie of the Year honors with Monmouth's Emily Simko. The freshman became the fifth Phoenix runner to be named Rookie of the Year and was the top-finishing first-year at the CAA Championships, placing 12
th overall. She earned All-CAA honors for her efforts and finished 83
rd overall with a personal-best time of 21:27.8 at the NCAA Southeast Regionals.
