Richmond, Va. – Elon University lacrosse player Anna Hackett has been named the CAA Rookie of the Week after scoring seven goals in two games for the Phoenix.
 
In a midweek contest against Queens, Hackett posted the first hat trick of her short collegiate career, scoring three goals on five shots on goal. She also added a caused turnover in the 13-9 win. She followed that up with half of Elon's eight goals in a 9-8 overtime loss to VCU Saturday. She had five shots on goal, three caused turnovers and a ground ball. Three of her goals came in a span that turned a 5-3 deficit into a 7-5 lead midway through the third quarter.
 
Hackett is tied for Elon's team lead with eight goals on the season. She is second on the team with five caused turnovers and has added four ground balls as well.
 
Elon (1-2 record) will be on the road for its next three games beginning with Thursday's contest at George Mason at 5 p.m.
