Women’s Tennis Takes Home Several Postseason CAA Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Five members of the Elon University women's tennis team took home All-CAA honors on Friday, as the Colonial Athletic Association announced its postseason awards.

Lizette Reding led the way for the Phoenix as the junior earned All-CAA Second Team Singles honors after posting a 12-7 singles record. The Leon, Mexico, native won seven matches at the No. 2 spot, including two at the CAA Tournament, and five at the No. 3 position. She went 4-2 against CAA opponents this season as she won matches against Hampton, UNCW, Stony Brook and William & Mary. This is Reding's third straight season making the All-CAA Second Team for singles.

Olivia Archer and Sibel Tanik were both named to the All-CAA Third Team for singles. Archer won her final 15 singles matches to finish the season with an 18-2 record. The fifth-year graduate student became Elon's all-time leader in career singles victories in March and finished her Elon tenure with 73 wins. Archer also won a pair of matches at the CAA Tournament and won regular season conference matches against North Carolina A&T, Hampton, UNCW, Delaware and William & Mary.

Playing the No. 1 singles position for the Phoenix, Tanik went 12-8 this season to earn a spot on an All-CAA team for singles for the third consecutive season. The Raleigh, N.C., native won her first set of the season against Fiona Crawley of North Carolina, the No. 1 ranked player in the ITA rankings. Tanik also picked up a win against Clemson's Eleni Louka, the No. 111 ranked ITA player. She was named CAA Player of the Week on two occasions.
