Elon, N.C. – Elon Lacrosse Head Coach
Josh Hexter has announced the hiring of Ashley Lizzi as an assistant coach. Lizzi comes to Elon after serving in the same role at Randolph-Macon College.
"We are excited to have Ashley join our staff," Hexter, beginning his 11th season at the helm of the program, said. "I believe her work ethic and energy are going to be a perfect fit in our program."
Lizzi spent three seasons at Randolph-Macon and the team improved its win season each year, moving from five wins in 2020 to eight in 2021 and then to 10 in 2022. Her draw unit ranked second in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) in 2022 and third in 2023. She was also responsible for equipment, academic oversight and travel. Along with those duties, Lizzi led sport performance programming and creative social media content across multiple platforms.
Along with her time at Randolph-Macon, Lizzi has served in various other coaching roles, including time as the Yellow Jackets South coach for the 2025 team from 2020-22 in Richmond, Va. She was associate head coach of the Indy Lacrosse Club 2023 team (Indianapolis, Ind.) after serving as an administrative coaching intern for the same organization in 2019. Lizzi was a sports performance intern at Per4orm in Davie, Fla., in 2018 and has been a volunteer assistant coach at Zionsville High School in Zionsville, Ind., and for the South Florida Chaos Lacrosse Travel Team in Broward County, Fla.
Lizzi earned her bachelor's degree in human communication and organizational leadership from Butler University in 2020 with a double minor in sport coaching and recreation sport studies. She was a team captain for Butler, playing in 57 career games and earning IWLCA Academic Honor List recognition. Lizzi earned her master's degree in sports management from the University of Florida in 2022.
