WHAT WE'VE SEEN SO FAR
Through three weeks of competition, the Elon track & field program has seen familiar faces dominate, while an influx of new names in key events has allowed the Phoenix's depth to shine so far in 2024.
Redshirt senior
Kaitlin McGoogan broke the school record in the weight throw earlier this year, while senior
Piper Jons has keyed a strong start in the 200 and 400. McGoogan is the top ranked individual in the weight throw in the CAA and Jons is No. 3 in the 200.
Freshman
Abby Beville won two events a week ago and ranks among the top seven in the CAA in both the mile and the 3,000, while freshman
Stavriana Adamou etched her name in the Elon record book in the 60 hurdles.
Sophomore
Hannah Schonhoff is among the top high jumpers in the conference and senior
Hollie Thurgood is a name to remember in the pentathlon.

ELON WINS INAUGURAL INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS
For the first time in its history, the Colonial Athletic Association sponsored an indoor track & field championship in 2023. Elon scored 129.83 points to edge out Hampton (121.33) for the crown.
Jette Beermann, in the mile, was Elon's lone event winner but the Phoenix flexed its depth, scoring points in all 18 events over the course of two days.
HE'S OUR COACH
Mark Elliston was named the inaugural CAA Indoor Track & Field Coach of the Year in the spring of 2023 and earned CAA Outdoor Track & Field Coach of the Year honors for the third straight season (and fifth overall) following the 2023 campaign. He has now earned eight Coach of the Year accolades over 17 seasons at Elon.
