Elon Heads To Philadelphia, Charlotte For Weekend Meets

Elon, N.C. – The Elon University track & field team will compete in split squad meets this week, with a handful of distance runners competing at the Penn Relays Thursday and the remainder of the squad heading to the Charlotte Invitational Friday and Saturday.
 
Thursday's competition at the Penn Relays begins with the 1500 at 6:10 p.m. The Charlotte Invitational will start Friday with hammer throw at 2:30 p.m. and then again Saturday at 11:00 a.m. with high jump.

Since 2019, Elon's women's cross country/track & field program has won nine CAA Championships. The Phoenix took home the triple crown a year ago (winning the CAA women's cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field titles) and earned the first leg again this year with a fifth straight cross country championship in the fall. Each week, the USTFCCCA releases the national, regional and conference Track & Field Rating Index (TFRI). Elon is ranked No 20 in the southeast region, garnering 95.12 points.
 
In the CAA rankings, Elon remained No. 1 in the league for the third consecutive week, with a total of 884.28 points. Northeastern stuck at No. 2, followed by Hampton and William & Mary for the second straight week.
 
On the national scale, Elon is ranked No. 184, up four spots from a week ago.
