ELON, N.C. – The Elon women's tennis team closed out the Jimmy Powell Fall Invitational Saturday with 20 wins across singles and doubles matches. The two-day invitational tournament saw participation from NC Central, Virginia Tech, Liberty, and Elon. 

Freshman Lisa Kranec secured three doubles wins and two singles wins during the two-day tournament, marking a successful opening to her collegiate career. Heidi Bulger, the Phoenix's other freshman, opened her collegiate career with three singles wins and a doubles win. Bulger secured her final win with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Elizabeth Mendoza of Virginia Tech, marking a 3-0 singles record for the tournament weekend. 

Simone Bergeron also secured a 3-0 singles record during the tournament weekend, securing her final win 6-1, 6-0 against Michaela Hegarty of Virginia Tech. 

Miray Konar, Mariana Reding, and Ella Suk also earned both singles and doubles wins during the tournament.

Helen Sarikulaya secured one singles win. 

Virginia Tech's Laima Frosch won the singles draw with 18 points, while ECU's Ines Bachir and Xenia Jeromin won the doubles draw with 12 points.

Elon will be off until hosting the Elon Invitational Oct. 4-5.
