Elon Set To Host Bellarmine, Play At Wake Forest

Elon, N.C. - The Elon University women's tennis team takes the court for their first home match of the spring season this weekend as the Phoenix hosts Bellarmine on Friday and then play at Wake Forest Sunday. Elon will square off with the Bellarmine Knights at the Piedmont Tennis Center in Greensboro at 4:00 p.m. Friday. The Wake Forest contest takes place Sunday at 4:00 p.m. 
 
HOW TO FOLLOW    
ABOUT THE PHOENIX 
  • Elon is currently 2-0 on the season, the team's best start since 2018. 
  • The Phoenix has won 10-of-12 singles matches so far this year and has split six doubles contests. 
  • Madison Cordisco has won both of her singles matches this season.  
  • Mariana Reding put up wins in singles and doubles matches this past weekend against Liberty and Longwood. She is currently undefeated this season with a singles and doubles record of 2-0 each.  
  • Heidi Bulger and Lisa Kranec, the Phoenix freshmen, have both opened their collegiate careers undefeated in singles.  
  • Elon is led by head coach Elizabeth Anderson, and is assisted by Ashe Ray. Anderson is 291-183 in 20+ seasons leading the Phoenix with 18 consecutive winning seasons.  
  • This will be the Phoenix's first campaign against the Bellarmine Knights, while Wake Forest is 8-1 all-time against Elon. 
 
ABOUT BELLARMINE 
  • Bellarmine is in the Atlantic Sun Conference (ASUN). 
  • The Knights are 0-3 in the spring of 2025 after going 9-17 a year ago. 
  • Nikola Kollaritsch went 12-5 in singles action and 4-3 in doubles play last spring. 
  • Vendula Kryslova went 11-4 overall in doubles play last spring.  
  • Bellarmine is coached by Brian Slack, who has led the program since the 2021-22 year. 
 
ABOUT WAKE FOREST 
  • Wake Forest is 2-1 to open the 2025 spring season. The team's only blemish was a hard-fought 4-3 defeat to No. 18 Tennessee. 
  • The Demon Deacons are 11-4 in singles play this year and 6-0 in doubles, earning the doubles point in all three matches. 
  • Krystal Blanch and Sankavi Gownder have both remained undefeated in singles since the start of the season. 
  • Wake Forest is coached by Jeff Wyshner, who is in his 15th season leading the Demon Deacons.
